What Customers Say About Printmaster - Platinum Version 18:

It is easy to use and a lot of fun. We really needed a new card making program. The reviews for Printmaster-Platinum Version 18 were great so we tried it. I especially like the variety of graphics available. We're very glad that we bought it.

iT INSTALLED GREAT AND RUNS FINE. IT IS SIMILAR TO EARLIER EDITIONS BUT HAS MORE ITEMS TO CHOOSE FROM. INTERNET PICTURES I HAVE PROBLEMS ACCESS BUT WORKING ON. THE PRICE WAS GREAT SHIPPING WAS A LITTLE SLOW, OVERALL WE ARE PLEASED WITH IT.

Print Master is a proprietry software that cannot be opened without Print Master on the other side. I have continued to use it down the years, (the best being PM 8, PM 16) and the worst (which I would consider 18 to be).PM 17 is even better than the current version. My objections: 1. If you change it over to Word, you MUST re format the font, or it will be unreadable.Deep River needs to honestly decide what they really want to do at this pont; continue publishing Print Master as a complete and alone stand alone program that is non-interfacable with any other software (which honestly is rediculous, considering the size of the market and PM dwindling sales), or get smart and make their program higher end than it is (It is afterall, a graphics program that is easy to use, has good manipulation ability and could be GREAT if they would just do it). They don't know the program.5.

Customer service, tech support, with high creative ideas. When Broderbund owned the company (before 1992) it was exceptional. Re directing tools in the tool bars (like shadow, for example). They added a "webpage" page builder, however, they give nil instructions as to how to link pages, create buttons, or even upload it on the net.

When asked about how this works with Printmaster, They said; "Print Master does not create webpages or websites." Any special effects you see, such as shadowing, multicolored screens, etc, does not upload at all, nor do bullets: in short, I don't suggest using it to create a webpage.4. Less graphics, less quality with the graphic choices. Not allowing previous versions graphics to interface with current program (what is that about, any. Some of the best graphics are on 4, 6, and 8, that are no longer able to be used, unless you have all the programs on the system.2. I have used Print Master since its inseption in 1987-88.

Their brief instructions on their site does not explain that most internet transferring programs (like Dreamweaver) will not upload your webpages. And to further add insult to your time, is now peddling software specific for website development. Constant calls from other sales linked with PM: expect to receive calls when you sign up, even if they are not from Deep River. And when they are from Deep River (who now owns PM), don't expect anything else but a sales answer from a script. The earlier versions you could put all the graphics on and not have to run the discs everytime you want to create a product.3. It was a Mac program. If you can get beyond no help, no packaging to assist with the program, the lack of quality graphics, AND hints file that does not pull up with the hints with key words (used to), then I guess it is worth the money.I still have mine and I use it, but am very careful not to expect more from it than a basic graphics program.

The inability to store these graphics on the computer. No live tech support anymore, and email tech does not give complete answers when they do respond to your requests.4. It does NOT play well with Word, it is not transferrable, and if you make business cards you must transfer them to JPEGs to get professionally printed. AND get some tech support, eh.

It loaded fine, but the next time I turned my laptop on, it would not start. I, like so many of you, have been a faithful P.M. I bought the new Platinum 18 version as soon as it was released. Same song, different verse. I love working with Printmaster, but my laptop is worth more than a computer program. It gave me problems on my computer at school by generating a fatal error message whenever I inserted the DVD.

was not loaded on my machine. user. I had to go through system repair and finally it restored itself to an earlier date when P.M. So I put it aside for a bit, very sadly. I purchased a new Dell XPS 1530 laptop with Vista and immediately broke out the Printmaster. I am so disappointed that this has happened.

I won't be using Printmaster again, unless someone can assure me that a version of it will not hurt my laptop.
